Step 1: To add new or existing instructors and/or learners in your class, first locate and left-click on the Class List under the Institutions List in the menu on the left-hand side of the QS Portal.
Step 2: Left-click the “Manage class users” icon (the group of people) under the Actions column of the class you want to add users to. Step 3: You will be presented with three choices. Add an existing user, Add a New user or Import.

To add an existing user (e.g. adding a learner to a Numeracy class that has already been added to a Literacy class), left-click in the "Search by username" field. You will be presented with a list of existing user accounts. Refine the list by typing a few letters then click on the desired account. Repeat as needed then left-click the Save button.
To add a New user, click the "New User" button. Select the Learner or Instructor role as needed. You will be presented with several fields as illustrated below. Fill out the form then click the Save button. For further information on the use of individual fields, please consult the User Guide for QuickSmart Portal.
NOTE: Coordinators can add Instructors and Learners to a class, whereas Instructors can only add Learners to a class.
NOTE: Consent is required in order to add a learner’s data to the Data Upload tool.
If you have several new learners to create at once, click the Import Users button then download the Excel template from the link on the right. Edit the downloaded template; one learner per row then save the file in a meaningful place and close Excel. Return to the portal and click the "Choose file" button. Select the completed template and click open. You will be presented with an import preview that will show any errors or conflicts. If everything is OK, click the Import Users button.
